Job hunting at any age can prove to be a difficult task, and getting older doesn’t necessarily make it easier.
Before you fret over having to prepare your resume, check out this quick list of jobs that you don’t even need a resume for.
Retail
One of the easiest ways to get employed is to follow the trail of retail work. Many retail positions require a quick filling out of an online application. And while it’s scarce to actually fill out a paper application this day and age, it still doesn’t hurt to go visit your possible place of employment after applying online just to show your face.
Blogging/Online Content Writing
If you have a passion for writing, then you might want to consider running your own blog or writing online content. While having a background in writing or marketing is helpful, running your own blog—whether it be through WordPress or Blogger—doesn’t require one. You could also take up freelance work if blogging isn’t fit for you. Try joining Facebook groups and searching websites like Upwork to find available work.
Opening an Etsy Shop
Have a crafty bone in you? If you’re familiar with the do-it-yourself route, consider selling your works on Etsy, a global marketplace where you could make, sell and buy unique goods. Registering online is easy to follow, and in no time you could have your very own online Etsy shop up and running.
Tutoring
While a teaching background is helpful, if you’re pretty savvy in a certain subject, then getting into tutoring can be a quick and easy way to bring in extra cash. Private tutors are always needed and the schedule can be flexible.
Starting a Website
You need to be able to utilize the internet and have some marketing capabilities, but starting your own website is still a fun and interesting way to make a residual income. Sites like Google AdSense allow you to make money online by placing ads on your website. Whenever an ad is seen or clicked, you’ll automatically earn money.
Photography
If you have a knack for taking good photos or have a decent camera, then jump into photography. Make sure you have a portfolio so potential clients could see your work. If you don’t have a portfolio, then it doesn’t hurt to do a couple of free sessions to start building one. Once you have a portfolio, marketing yourself on Facebook or through friends and family is a great way to get the word out about your business.
Grooming Animals
If you’re an animal lover, then becoming a pet groomer at your local pet salon could be the purrfect job for you. Pet grooming doesn’t require any formal training but having some experience doesn’t hurt. Try volunteering at your local animal shelter to get your feet wet.
