Social Work Advocacy Day (SWAD) Week
The National Association of Social Workers Texas Chapter is hosting their virtual Social Work Advocacy Day (SWAD) Week on March 1-5.
They will focus on priority advocacy topics such as school social work, Medicaid reimbursement rates, child welfare, immigration, healthcare, mental health and substance use and more.
There will be daily morning rallies from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., afternoon policy debriefs from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and advocacy “Calls to Action” that attendees can participate in throughout the day! To see the event schedule and topics, visit the event website.
Attendees who participate in seven advocacy activities during the week will get an Advocacy Certificate! Make sure to perfect your resume.
Starbucks gift cards will be given at each virtual event. Earn up to two continuing education credits during the week.
All events are FREE to attend and will be held virtually via Zoom with space for 1,000 attendees. Event links will be emailed prior to the event to all registrants. Registration is required here.
