Oompah at its best, the aroma of sizzling bratwurst and the cries of prosit once again herald the arrival of Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg Friday, October 5 through Sunday, October 7. For three full days, the whole world is invited to sing, toast and dance to celebrate 38 years of Texas gemütlichkeit!
Attendees will enjoy Strassen Zelt featuring photo booths, German and Texas Bier, bands and more; OktubaFest on Friday afternoon where any and all tuba and euphonium players are invited to participate; “Hauptstrasse (Main Street) Chicken Dance” on Saturday morning; and a 42 tournament for domino players on Sunday.
In addition, there will be shopping opportunities, juried artisans, four covered stages with a continuous parade of entertainers and a hearty menu of delicious German and American foods.
Since its inception in 1981, Oktoberfest has been presented by the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance. All proceeds are used for student scholarships, gifts and grants, the summer Marktplatz Concert Series and to support the local arts.
