May 4 – Hummingbirds of Austin with Cindy Sperry
Did you know that nine different species of hummingbirds can be found in Travis County? Join Travis Audubon Society speaker Cindy Sperry to learn about the unique biology of these amazing birds, which species you can find in Austin, and how to attract them to your yard.
May 11 – TreeFolks
Trees for the Blanco is a large-scale reforestation program coordinated by TreeFolks to help replant trees along the river in Hays County. This presentation will discuss how riparian (riverside) ecosystems function and the role people can have in improving its resiliency.
May 18 – Colorado River Alliance with Brent Lyles
Lyles will share information about the Colorado River Alliance’s work, including an overview of current issues that potentially impact the long-term health of the river.
May 25 – Pollination with Valerie Bugh
Look at the various animals that interact with plants in this process, and discuss the expenditures, risks and compensations.
