Virtual Event: Manager's Training & Continuing Education
Join TORCH for their Manager's Training & Continuing Education held on Tuesday, April 20.
TORCH offers Certified Assisted Living Management courses in three different sessions:
- Regulations Session: Choose this option if you want to only attend day one of the training to get the eight hours of regulations training. 8-hour training on the Texas licensing standards. This course includes updates and proposed changes to the licensing standards. Legislative changes are also covered.
- 12-Hour Continuing Education Session: Choose this option if you need the state-mandated continuing education. 12-hour continuing education training on management of assisted living facilities. This course covers the state’s required content for management training. The 8-hour Regulations course fills the first day, and additional four hours of training occurs on the second day. These topics may include: resident characteristics (including dementia), resident assessment and skills working with residents; basic principles of management; food and nutrition services; federal laws, with an emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act’s accessibility requirements; community resources; ethics; and financial management.
- 24-Hour Continuing Education Session: This course includes the 8-hour session above (Option 1), plus an additional 16 hours of self-paced training on TORCH University. Self-paced training topics may include: financial topics (budgeting, long-term-care insurance), fair housing, policies and procedures, fall prevention, dementia, elder law, food and nutrition, marketing, compassion fatigue and caregiver health topics, RN Delegation, HHSC LTC topics, Life Safety Code, and licensing information.
The class will be held virtually via Zoom from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Log in between 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. Additional hours to be completed on TORCH University.
Registration is required here and ranges from $140 to $400 for members and $225 to $550 for nonmembers.
