2021 GPS Navigation for Caregivers Virtual Conference
Riverbend Church is partnering with AGE of Central Texas for the 8th annual GPS: Navigation for Caregivers Virtual Conference on February 22-26, presented by Cyndi Cummings, Turnkey Transitions & Cummings Home Team.
For the past eight years, Riverbend Church has hosted the free conference to provide unpaid family caregivers with relevant information and vital resources to help ease the challenges of caring for an aging family member. Participants discover local resources, acquire skills to better manage their caregiving situation and connect with national and local experts on aging.
The 2021 conference includes daily seminars with aging and caregiving experts:
- Monday, February 22: “Effectively Utilizing In-Home Health Care” presented by Jennifer Prescott, RN, MSN, CDP, founder of Blue Water Home Care. The session sponsor is Texas Senior Living Locators.
- Tuesday, February 23: “When It’s Not Alzheimer’s Disease” presented by Sarah Hyde-Williams, CADDCT, CMDCP, CDCM, founder of Senior Living Advisors of Austin. The session sponsor is Arden Courts of Austin.
- Wednesday, February 24: “COVID-19 Updates” presented by Dr. Mary Theoktisto, infectious disease expert at Baylor Scott & White Health.
- Thursday, February 25: “How to Pay for Long-Term Care” presented by Lina Supnet-Zapata, MBA, CTXG, CMC, executive director/managing partner at MIR Care Consultants, Inc. The session sponsor is Buckner Villas.
- Friday, February 26: “Keeping Your Sanity While Caregiving” presented by Jessica Lehmann, executive director at AARP Texas.
