January CEU Care Partnering Versus Caregiving
Join Brookdale Senior Living on Tuesday, January 19 for "Care Partnering versus Caregiving" presented by Brian LeBlanc, International Alzheimer's Advocate; Maureen Rulison, president of Caregiver Support and Resources, LLC; and Juliet Holt Klinger, MA, senior director of dementia care.
Join for a real-life examination of the difference between caregiving and care partnering. In this session you will not only hear from Brookdale’s dementia care expert, Juliet Holt Klinger, on the latest research on the caregiving role, but you will also hear directly from a person living with dementia and his care partner. Attendees will explore the dynamics of a care partnership and how this relationship can be structured and nurtured to work for both. Brian and his care partner will lead attendees through their daily journey and some of the “musts” to making this partnership a success.
Following this presentation the participant will be able to:
- Review person-centered principles as they relate to the caregiving relationship.
- Examine the potential pitfalls of a caregiving relationship and learn to view the caregiving relationship as a partnership.
- Learn from a person living with dementia and his care partner and some of the “musts” of a positive care-partnering relationship.
- Explore the unique support needs of the care partner.
