Virtual Event: Advance Care Planning: The GIFT Project
AGE of Central Texas is hosting a two-part caregiver support seminar exploring "Advance Care Planning: The GIFT Project" on Saturday, June 13 & 20.
The GIFT Project is an initiative of Hospice Austin to encourage advance care planning prior to a health care crisis. This interactive seminar empowers participants to identify what matters most to them and take steps to ensure their wishes are honored. The discussion will include how to:
- Identify your wishes
- Decide who you would like to speak for you
- Discuss your wishes with loved ones
- Complete your advance directives
Part 1 on Saturday, June 13 will focus on how to have the conversation, what are advance directives, and why it is more important than ever to have your documents up to date and filled out. Time will be allotted for Q&A.
Part 2 on Saturday, June 20 will focus on the documents. Each document will be explained with time for Q&A.
This event is to help family members effectively care for an older adult and is FREE to attend. Space is limited. Register here or by calling 512.600.9275.
