A Better Balance Workshop for Caregivers

Ballet Austin 501 W 3rd St, Austin, Texas 78701
Join Ballet Austin for A Better Balance Workshop for Caregivers on Tuesday, July 6.
Falls are common among older adults. Every second of every day, an adult aged 65 and up suffers a fall in the United States, making falls the leading cause of injury and injury death in this age group. One out of four older adults will fall each year in the United States.
Research has shown that after an older adult has their first fall, caregivers report a significant increase in the fear of falling, often leading to a sedentary lifestyle, decreased activity, isolation and often depression.
However, falls are preventable and do not have to be an inevitable part of aging. You can be a partner and an active participant in falls prevention. Whether you are a family member of an older adult, a friend or a hired caregiver, you can help!
This workshop is designed to empower you, the caregiver. The workshop includes tips and simple safety measures that can help prevent falls, as well as several of the balance and movement strategies taught during the four-week Better Balance & Movement Workshop. To see the event flier, visit here.
This event is $20 per person for onsite training and FREE for virtual training. Registration is required on the event website.
