The Ultimate Guide to Aging Care

The Senior Resource Guide is for seniors, eldercare professionals and caregivers who need information and guidance and need it now. We’re trusted by thousands of people every day who turn to us looking for eldercare solutions.

Our modern caregiver’s resource has been helping Texans for almost two decades, taking the guesswork out of caregiving. The Senior Resource Guide is packed with informative articles, support, and advice. Our mission is to show readers how to access local products and services that will provide relief.

We love it when we can connect someone who needs help with a great company or resource.

The Senior Resource Guide is published twice a year with print editions for the Houston and the Austin/San Antonio areas. We also have an extensive online presence with an information-packed website.

Good News

The good news about eldercare is that there really are great resources out there for seniors and caregivers. But who has the time and energy to track them all down? The Senior Resource Guide puts that knowledge at your fingertips.

We know the terrain—the ins and outs of senior care in the state of Texas—so that our readers won’t have to waste time finding their own way.

Over the years we’ve forged relationships with countless eldercare professionals and local businesses, social workers, and government agencies. We’ve partnered with key organizations such as the Area Agencies on Aging, Argentum, Case Management Society of America, GO TEXAN, National Association of Social Workers, TALA, Texas Health and Human Services, TORCH, and United Way.

We’re privileged to work with some of the most dedicated and compassionate people you’ll ever meet.

If you're a great company providing services for our aging community or their caregivers, we want to partner with you!

An Invaluable Resource

Caregiving, like everything else in the world today, is constantly changing. And we keep you up-to-date on the latest approaches to care.

In the Senior Resource Guide, you’ll find information on things like Active Adult Living—including Delicious Recipes and Tips for Wellness, Home Care and Independent Living, Assisted Living and Long-Term Care, Memory Exercises, Understanding Medicare, Dealing with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Must-Have Legal Documents, Hospice and Support Groups for Caregivers.

Free copies of the Senior Resource Guide can be found at Walgreens, H-E-B, Kroger, and Whole Foods Market. Most hospitals also have complimentary copies available either through the Case Management Department or in stands at the front entrance of the hospital.

If you’re interested in a subscription, the Senior Resource Guide can be delivered straight to your mailbox, with new editions coming out twice a year.

We also offer The Essential Caregiver’s Toolkit which is a great place to start for anyone who’s still trying to get their bearings.

The ultimate goal of caregiving is to make sure your loved one has the best possible quality of life, while easing the stress on you and them. In every edition, we give you a wealth of information to help you on your caregiving journey.

Karyn’s Story

Our founder Karyn learned about the journey of caregiving many years ago when she had to step in and take care of her grandmother. That’s when she realized that there was a real need out there for an easy-to-use, reliable caregiver’s resource to help folks navigate the many challenges of aging. She also saw the opportunity to assist local businesses offering products and services that could truly help people.

In 2003, she and her husband started the Senior Resource Guide. They started out serving Fort Bend County, and today the guide is available in several major markets in Texas reaching over one million people annually with new plans for expansion on the horizon.

Her children are also onboard, so we’re a family business here and we’re kind of proud of that. Unfortunately, Karyn is no longer with usshe earned her angel wings back in 2020but her vision still guides us, and it always will.

Karyn was known as a bright light in the community. She served as president and board member for the local Area Agency on Aging and was an avid supporter of organizations making a difference in the senior care realm.

Whether it was a family caregiver needing help with their aging loved one, a senior looking for a community to accommodate their needs, or an eldercare professional wanting to grow their network, she was always available to lend a helping hand—even if that meant staying on the phone for hours on end. If she didn’t have the resource, she’d find one or connect them with someone who did.

Today, we have a wonderful team of caring and inspired problem solvers to continue Karyn’s legacy.

Our Team

Every week we get phone calls, emails and Facebook messages from people telling us how the Senior Resource Guide has impacted them. We like to call these our “warm fuzzies,” which are always shared with the team during our company meetings to remind ourselves why we do what we do.

We’re serious in our commitment, But it’s important to keep a sense of fun and lightheartedness too.

It takes a team of passionate, creative, and talented people to unite behind our mission. We work hard, we laugh a lot, we brainstorm nonstop, and we give the best high-fives in town!

You’re Not Alone

If you're a caregiver who’s helping a loved one, we want to say thank you. Thank you for your strength and courage and for everything you do.

We invite you to subscribe to the Senior Resource Guide and take advantage of all this modern caregiver’s resource has to offer. Sign up for our Events Calendar for exclusive invitations and announcements of upcoming events. And don’t forget to check out our Essential Caregiver’s Toolkit.

Caregiving can sometimes seem like an underappreciated job and a lonely struggle. But it doesn’t have to be.
