The Arthritis Foundation welcomed over 530 guests on October 27, 2018 to the sold-out Houston Bone Bash at Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. Chaired by Ashley Seippel, the 8th annual “Around the World” themed event surpassed its fundraising goal and set a record for the Houston Arthritis Foundation raising over $340,000.
Dressed in costumes from all areas of the globe, partygoers enjoyed themed cocktails including passionfruit mojitos, casino games and live entertainment by Latin band Grupo Kache.
Bone Bash honorees, Vivian Wise, Hallie McLeod and Prashanth Sunkureddi, were all on hand to mingle and stress the importance of raising funds for the Arthritis Foundation. Honoree Vivian Wise expressed her deep gratitude for the event’s supporters as each and every dollar raised helps the Arthritis Foundation find a cure for the more than 100 forms of arthritis. Fourteen-year-old honoree Hallie shared her personal struggles with juvenile arthritis and was able to thank her pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Ankur Kamdar, who was in attendance.
“We are thrilled with the growth of the Bone Bash and the visibility this event is bringing to arthritis, which can many times be an invisible disease.” said Jen Torres, Arthritis Foundation executive director.
The Arthritis Foundation is boldly pursuing a cure for America’s number one cause of disability while championing the fight against arthritis with life-changing resources, science, advocacy and community connections. Since its inception over seven decades ago, the Foundation has funded over $500 million in scientific discovery.
The Senior Resource Guide was a proud sponsor of the event. Complimentary copies of the Guide were provided to the attendees.
