“We were looking for an opportunity to celebrate our seniors and National Senior Citizens’ Day provided a perfect opportunity,” said Cyndi Cummings, Austin Senior Resource Alliance founder.
Not only did the 5th annual luncheon and awards celebrate senior citizens as a whole, but it featured a few very special honorees. Nominations were made by senior living communities around Austin that wanted to recognize the most outstanding members of their communities.
These communities included: Conservatory at North Austin, Brookdale Spicewood Springs, Parkwood Meadows, Silverado Onion Creek, Longhorn Village, Querencia at Barton Creek, Village on the Park Onion Creek, Silverado Bee Cave, Lakeline Oaks Retirement Community, The Clairmont Retirement Community and Élan Southpark Meadows.
The speaker for the event was Amy Temperley, founder of Aging is Cool, whose message for the 100+ attendees was “Aging Can Be Cool: Making Your Golden Years the Best of Your Life.”
Event sponsors included Austin Senior Resource Alliance, Kitchen Table Conversations, Alzheimer’s Texas, The Cummings Team, Turnkey Transitions, Longhorn Village, Querencia at Barton Creek, Village on the Park Onion Creek, Austin Home Transitions and WellMed.
