Over 250 guests gathered for the Butterfly Luncheon at The Houstonian Hotel in support of Houston Hospice and its Butterfly Program.
The room was light and bright with floral arrangements provided The Garden Club of Houston, organized by Sue White in memory of June Stobaugh.
Emceed by Melanie Lawson of ABC Channel 13, the luncheon treated guests to a presentation by featured speaker Gail Caldwell, New York Times best-selling author of Let’s Take the Long Way Home. Caldwell received a standing ovation for her heartfelt remarks about dealing with life and grief.
Houston Hospice provides uncompromising, compassionate end-of-life care for its patients and their families. The Butterfly Program, which was developed in 1996, is recognized as a national leader for the advancement of pediatric hospice care.
Butterfly Luncheon chairman, Gaylon Cunningham, was thrilled with the $200,000 raised.
