With their hearts in the right place, 700 Houstonians consisting of community members, medical professionals and corporate leaders joined the American Heart Association for the 36th annual Houston Heart Ball at the Hilton Americas-Houston on February 16, 2019.
Chaired by Debbie and Jack B. Moore, this was an unforgettable evening celebrating the arts, culture and philanthropic spirit of Houston. The medical honoree was David E. Persse, MD, and the community honorees were Arvia and Jason Few. The soiree was focused on children with congenital heart defects, which was highlighted in this year’s survivor video that honored the Cager family and filled guests with hope.
The magical evening, themed "Imagine with Heart," included a gourmet dinner, cocktails and luxury live and silent auctions featuring unique packages ranging from a four-day trip to New York City to experience Hamilton on Broadway to an exclusive dinner deemed the Diamond Dinner by presenting sponsor Tenenbaum Jewelers. Entertainment by Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra kept partygoers on their feet as they danced the night away.
The American Heart Association raised $2.3 million to fund its research and education programs that will change communities and ultimately save lives from heart disease and stroke.
