The 2019 AWARE Affair: Celebrate the Moments – Blooms of Hope gala was an inspiring and dynamic event reflecting the real-life experiences and passions of gala chairs Ginny Bond Fein and Sarah B. Smith, walking together in the fight for Sarah’s mother, Rebecca “Beauty” Bearden, in her battle against the devastating disease of early-onset Alzheimer’s.
AWARE president, Sharon Ballew welcomed the crowd and introduced The Reverend Nicole Bates from Westminster Presbyterian Church for the invocation. Chairs Ginny and Sarah welcomed everyone and thanked the underwriters.
“Charity is personal and giving not only comes from our hearts, but it is also motivated by our own life experiences. To us, fighting to end Alzheimer’s disease is very personal as we continue to walk alongside and fight for Sarah’s mother,” said chairs Ginny and Sarah.
The evening featured musicians from DSQ Electric, fabulous silent and live auction items and signature cocktails including Katy Trail Vodka’s Katy Garden Spritzer, ROXOR Artisan Gin’s Blooming Gin and Tonic and Tequila Partida’s Raspberry Spritz.
Proceeds benefited AWARE, a Dallas-based charity founded in 1989 that has donated over $12,750,000 toward its mission of fighting Alzheimer’s disease by providing funding and support to programs, projects and research provided by nonprofit organizations and public entities that actively help all individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease in Dallas and the greater north Texas area.
