Join in for this four-part series providing hands-on techniques for daily care of a person with dementia. Taught by veteran memory care director Steve Catoe, these classes will feature methods pioneered by dementia care experts Teepa Snow and Naomi Feil.
Tuesday, August 14 kicks off this series with the topic "Normal Aging vs. Not Normal Aging."
During this class you will:
- Compare/contrast “normal” aging vs. “not normal” aging related to various cognitive functions
- Recognize and intervene effectively when behavioral challenges occur
- Learn skills related to approach, cuing and connecting with people with dementia, and how to match behaviors to needs
