Bayou City Art Festival Downtown 2018
Celebrate 47 years of fine art with Art Colony Association as they spotlight over 300 artists during the award-winning annual fine art festival on October 13-14.
The Downtown Houston festival is one of the top 10 outdoor fine arts festivals in the nation and brings out more than 20,000 people. The two-day festival showcases the works of over 300 of the finest artists and craftsmen in the world and offers visitors the opportunity to meet with exhibiting artists while enjoying food, fun and entertainment.
This year’s featured artist is Chris Vance, a mixed media 2D artist from Bondurant, Iowa. Fueled by daily experiences, emotions and ideas, Vance is able to transform a blank canvas into an interpretation of himself. Art is his medium of expression and Vance refers to art as his personal diary.
Over the past 47 years, the Art Colony Association, producer of the Bayou City Art Festivals in Downtown Houston in the fall and at Memorial Park in the spring, has raised millions of dollars to help support local nonprofit organizations. The Festivals are funded in part by grants from the City of Houston and through Houston Arts Alliance.
Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There is plenty of parking near the festival: street level, privately owned surface lots, parking garages or underground parking is available downtown. Metered parking is also available. Check for rates at the meters.
General admission is $12 per adult and $5 per child (6-12 years old). Tickets can be purchased here.
